Practice Philosophy

It is our philosophy to emphasise prevention and regular check-ups. This will reduce the need for long and complicated treatment and reduce cost.

We are a private and NHS practice providing treatment on a pay-as-you-go basis. For patients who have completed their course of treatment we have a health care scheme funded by monthly payments.

A price list and details of our dental health care scheme are available on request.

We hope to provide a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere in which to treat you. We are always happy to hear your comments.

Some people are anxious about dental treatment – please feel free to talk to us about this, we will do everything we can to help.

Out of Hours

For emergencies which occur out of working hours, telephone the practice and advice will be given via the answerphone message.

From 6.00pm-10.00pm on Friday, and 10.00am-6.00pm on Saturday and Sunday, there is a private on-call Dentist with a call out charge of £85.

(This charge is covered by Denplan, Barrowford Plan and Kids Plan, except for the first £15.)

Anybody can contact the NHS emergency service on 0845 46 47.

Appointments

When arranging appointments, our practice receptionist will do their best to arrange a convenient appointment for you. However sometimes, such as after 4.00pm and in the early morning, are very popular, and are booked up several weeks in advance. For patients for whom we have a mobile number, we now offer a complementary text messaging reminder service.

Emergency Appointments

We always keep a slot in the morning and a slot in the afternoon free for emergencies. We aim to offer patients in pain an appointment on the same day and will usually see other types of emergencies on the same day or the next. If you have a problem please ring the practice as early as possible in the morning as this will give the receptionist maximum flexibility in organising your appointment.

How to Pay

After each examination we will give you a written estimate. It will be as accurate as possible but may change once x-rays have been checked or subsequent treatment uncovers other problems.

We like patients to pay for each part of the treatment on the day it is finished. You can pay with cash, cheque or card.

Confidentiality

Strict confidentiality of patient's records and information is maintained at all times.

Patient records will not be passed onto any third party without the patient’s express permission.

Facilities for the Disabled

We have ground floor facilities which are suitable for disabled patients, including
